Every note on Supercreate starts from something I have actually done: a project I scoped, a proposal that worked or didn’t, a client conversation I would handle differently next time, a tool I paid for and kept or cancelled. This page sets out how those notes are written, what they cover and how they are corrected.
Four things, mostly: design craft (process, critique, presenting work), clients (briefs, scope, feedback, keeping relationships healthy), business (pricing, contracts, cash flow, saying no) and tools (the software and kit that earn their place). The aim is practical: something you can use on your next project.
Prices, day rates and project budgets in the notes are examples to show the reasoning, not a rate card. Your market, experience and client will change the right number. Where a note gives a figure, it says where the figure came from.
Tools are written about because they were used on real work, and they were paid for. No vendor sees a note before it is published, and no tool is included because someone asked. If a tool gets worse or changes its pricing, the note is updated.
Supercreate takes no sponsorships, affiliate commissions or paid placements, and it does not do client work. Nothing here is for hire, so nothing here is written to win work.
If a note is wrong, it is fixed and the fix is stated at the bottom of the note. If advice changes because the industry or a tool changes, the note is updated rather than quietly replaced. To report a mistake, use the contact page.
The archive includes older posts from before Supercreate’s current focus. They are being reviewed and either brought up to the standard above or removed.
